Professional Development for Educational Interpreters
July 22 - 25, 2012
• Sunday, 1:00 p.m. July 22 - Wednesday, July 25 at 4:15 p.m.
• Location: The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, St. Augustine, FL
• No cost to participants or districts for the training.
• Eligibility: Participants must be employed by school districts to provide services to students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. If space is available contracted interpreters (those working with independent agencies but providing service to a school district) will be allowed to attend without receiving the financial stipend.
• CEUs for through RID can be earned for each of the tracks.
• Participants must secure their own lodging. Special rates have been arranged at the several hotels near the FSDB campus. Rooms accommodate up to 4 (2 queens) and are $69.00 or higher per night plus tax.
• Participants working as employees of a school district, traveling more than 50 miles one-way during the institute will be eligible for a stipend of $100.00 (approximately) paid 6 to 8 weeks after the institute from project funds.
