Plans are in the works for Summer Institute 2012. Potential dates are July 22 - 25, 2012, we are trying to avoid conflicts with school openings which happen early in August. Hopefully, these dates will enable attendance by most if not all interpreters.
The Project plans to offer more online learning modules in the Fall and Spring. Click here for information on the Modules for 2011 - 2112. The Project will be offering opportuniites for One-to-One Mentoring. All modules are currently full. We will offer more modules next grant year beginning in October.
The Project will continue to assist with tuition costs for eduational interpreters taking college courses. Application for tuition stipend
EIPA NEW!! The Project is collaborating with Broward County to provide interpreters an opportunity to take the performance test in south Florida (Ft. Lauderdale). The Project is able to assist with 1/2 of the cost of the performance test at this site as well as the north Florida (Jacksonville) site. Candidates must be full time employees of school districts who provide interpreting services to students.
Numerous Professional Development activites are being offered around the state. These are done in response to district requests. Want something in your district?? Contact Shannon.
